值此第一部中英两国出版社合作编写的词典--《牛津·外研社英汉汉英词典》全球首发之际，我谨代表中国翻译协会表示衷心祝贺！
外语教学与研究出版社、牛津大学出版社精诚合作推出的这本《牛津·外研社英汉汉英词典》，堪称中英两国学术文化交流史上的一段佳话和中英两国词典编撰史上的一座里程碑。
这部词典能够适应许多中国人学英语和外国人学汉语的需求。它对英语文化和中华文化的讲解深入浅出，比较全面和严谨，有助于推介外国优秀文化、弘扬中国传统文化、“把世界介绍给中国”和“把中国介绍给世界”。
希望《牛津·外研社英汉汉英词典》的出版，是外语教学与研究出版社、牛津大学出版社为广大读者出版更多更好学术文化精品的前奏。

Letter of Congratulations

Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and Oxford University Press,
I'm writing on behalf of the Translators Association of China (TAC) to convey our warm congratulations on the launch of your co-compiled Oxford?FLTRP English-Chinese Chinese-English Dictionary.
The dictionary represents a milestone in the history of dictionary publishing in China as well as in the UK, based on close cooperation between the two publishers. It also stands as a fine example of academic and cultural exchange between China and the UK.
The dictionary is designed to meet the needs of  Chinese learners of English and overseas learners of Chinese by providing notes on English and Chinese cultures in an accurate, clear, and easy-to-understand way. I believe it will prove to be helpful in introducing foreign cultures (to China) and Chinese culture (to other countries), and in facilitating mutual understanding between China and the rest of the world.
We look forward to more quality academic and cultural publications from FLTRP and OUP.
